What is PTE?
PTE Academic is a computer-based academic English language test aimed at non-native English speakers who are preparing to study abroad or migrate to Australia. The test consists of Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening. All the modules are tested on the same day and the test is about 3 hours long.
How do I check my result?
Once your result becomes available, you will receive an email with the link to the PTE website. Once you click on the link, it will open the log in page and you will have to enter your username and password. Once you enter the website, you can download your score card.
How long does it take to get the result?
Pearson claims that candidates get their results within 5 business days. Most often students get their results within 2-3 days of their test. However, we have had cases where the results took longer than 5 business days. If you have not received your test result within the stipulated time, please contact us and we will guide you further.
How long does it take to get results from PTE?
Pearson claims that all candidates get their results within 5 business days. However, candidates sometimes get their results in the same day of the test and in some rare cases some people have waited for more than 3 weeks to receive their results. What PTE score is required for Australian Immigration?
Most Visas in Australia require you to have at least 50 in each sections of PTE. For the point based migration, you may get 10 or 20 points depending on your PTE score. Generally speaking, 65+ in each sections of PTE = 10 Points 79+ in each Sections of PTE = 20 Points However, always speak with your migration agent for your specific requirement.
What happens on the day of the test?
You will have to show your passport to verify your identity. They will take your photo, ask you to sign and scan your palm. Once your identity is verified, you will have to leave all your belongings outside the test room. You can only take your passport to the exam hall.
Do I have to speak with a computer?
Yes. You do speaking in front of a computer. The computer does not interact with you but only listens to and records your answer. Even your answer is rated by a computer algorithm. Therefore, if you are not able to present the appropriate data to the computer, you may score poorly in the test.
What is written discourse in PTE?
According to Pearson, this refers to coherence, organisation and logical development of your response. This basically assesses the quality of your summary and essay in terms of how specific your answer is and how you have organised or explained them.
How much is the validity of PTE?
PTE scores are generally valid for two years for academic purpose. For other purposes, you can contact the relevant departments.
